The false skin beetles (Bi­phyllidae) are a small family of tiny beetles with only 200 species worldwide. In Europe five species, Germany only two are known to occur. Biphyllidae reach their highest diversity in the Neotropic ecozone. They live under bark or on bracket fungi.
