The lizard beetles (Langu­riidae) are a small family of small to medium-sized beetles. Worldwide some 400 species have been described, widely distributed in all faunal regions, but is best represented in tropical areas. Four species are known to occur in Germany. The beetles feed on pollen and various plants.
