Statistics

This module allows to generate simple statistical evaluations of the submitted requests for beetle ID. In expert mode, you may define up to four groups of requests (analogously to the request search module) with up to three search criteria. Further settings, e.g. diagram type, scaling and grid can be adjusted in expert mode.

Specialization of some of our admins

Our admins are specialized in different beetle families, e.g. Michael in weevils and apionids, Fabian in ground beetles and Moritz in rove beetles.

Active days of week of our specialists

Our admins are most active on different ways of the week. For example, if you would like to submit weevils and rove beetles, to submit from Monday to Thursday is a good idea.

Short and long waiting time depending on submission time

How long does it take until my inquiry is answered? This depends in part from when you submit your request. Those submitted in the evening are usually quickly answered, those submitted in the morning might take a bit longer.

Waiting time depending on family

On average, we answer 50% of all requests in less than one hour and about 85% in less than eight hours. However, some families take a bit longer, e.g. Staphylinidae.

Recorded families by season

Different families can be found in different seasons of the year. Ground and rove beetles are often recorded during winter, whereas longhorn beetles are mostly recorded during spring and summer.

Recording status of some families by fauna region

The three best-recorded fauna regions are BY, HS and NO. There are big differences between the individual families. In rove beetles, NO is clearly in front of BY and HS, in scarabaeids HS is clearly ahead of BY and NO, in leaf beetles BY has by far the most species over NO and HS. The numbers of the reported weevil species are almost identical.

Requests with species still missing in the family overviews of kerbtier.de

It speaks for the diligence and success of our users, that they record so many species that we have not yet found and photographed ourselves and therefore are lacking in our family overviews (shown by family and map sheet)

Phenograms for higher taxonomic ranks (genus, family)

Phenograms on species level have been available on kerbtier.de for quite some while. Now, phenograms are also available for higher taxonomic ranks, e.g. genus and family.

Cumulated number of recorded species for 4 large families

In this statistics you can see the number of recorded species from four large families since the start of our module. Can the rove beetles possibly outpace the ground beetles? At least our co-admin Moritz has high hopes!

Inquiries last 48 days for 3 large families and total

Number of inquiries per day during the last 48 days, shown for the three families Carabidae, Curculionidae and Chrysomelidae as well as for all families in total.
