The long-toed water beetles (Dryo­pidae) are a small family of mostly small beetles, which occur in aquatic or semi-aquatic environments. Worldwide some 200 species have been described from all biogeographical realms, except Australia and the Antarctica. 14 species are known to occur in Germany.
