On May 26th, 2012, one specimen of the comb-clawed beetle Mycetochara flavipes was found in the arid floodplain of Grißheim in a old, hollow poplar filled with detritus. The stenotopic, mycetophilous species lives in deciduous forests and on the edges of forests and prefers logs and stubs of oak (Quercus), beech (Fagus), Horse-chestnut (Aesculus), lime (Tilia), poplar (Populus) and others. In Germany recent records are missing in several Federal States and M. flavipes is regarded as endangered (RL 2).
