On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Found on 05.06.2017 in Babice nad Svitavou on wild rose on a clearing in a deciduous forest with prevailing oak, acacia and beech trees on limestone subsoil. Length 6 - 7 mm. Definitely some Anthaxia sp., but I am not able to determina the species. Thanks for your help.

Comment: Hi Mirax, this should be Anthaxia salicis. Northwest Africa, Iberian Peninsula, Central Europe to the Caucasus and Asia minor. Development under the bark of dry oak wood. Adults on wood and on blossoms. There are very similar species like A. semicuprea and A. suzannae, but they can be excluded here. Regards, Christoph
